In June of 2020, in the depths of the covid shut-downs, God broke through barriers in my life and drew me closer to Him than ever before. One night, when I couldn’t sleep, I realized I had a new song running through me, so I went down at 3am in the morning to the keyboard, put in earbuds so as not to wake the house, and found the chords for what I was hearing. God gave me the rest of the words and notes the next day.
The chorus of this song is an anthem, and for days and weeks and afterwards, I’d sing this song while I was headed out to go on a walk with God. The song is also a prayer, for it is impossible to declare the glory and awesomeness of God without responding to it with a prayer for Him to transform us.
Many people in our church have shared how much they love this song, for it’s simple to sing, and oh-so powerful when the whole congregation joins with the angels singing, “Holy, holy!”
And then, on Jan 4th, two days after I released the song, God spoke to me in a dream about how He was going to use this song. Here’s that part of the story:
“And when the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders will fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and they will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and will cast their crowns before the throne, saying, “Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.” Rev. 4:9-11
And I heard every created thing which is in heaven, or on the earth, or under the earth, or on the sea, and all the things in them, saying, “To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be the blessing, the honor, the glory, and the dominion forever and ever.” Rev. 5:13
